Hairspray est le plus efficace film créé par New Line Cinema, Ingenious Film Partners, Offspring Entertainment, Zadan / Meron Productions, qui dispose d'un description du film est "Malgré son physique passablement arrondi, la jeune Tracy n'a qu'une idée en tête : danser dans la célèbre émission de Corny Collins.
